As we write this we have so many fun & warm memories of Melissa. The fondest ones were from Mardi Gras in New Orleans. She was always the life of the party & anyone she met they connected with her. I will never forget each time she & Jeff would stay with us in N.O., she would bring gifts to my kids & even wanted to go see my twin girls in their school parade when they were in Kindergarten. Keep in mind Melissa & Jeff were on vacation here & she wanted to go see them at school. They could’ve gone to a nice lunch & spent that time down in the French Quarter. What a special friend to want to see my children at their school. Now, we get to the Mardi Gras Ball weekends. Boy how she loved going to the Endymion Extravaganza in the Superdome & dancing the night away. There’s a song that they always played called “We’re Up All Night to Get Lucky” by Daft Punk. She thought the lyrics were: “We’re up all Mexican Lucky” & 1 time found a sombrero hat from a float rider to wear while singing it. Sooo every time I hear that song I never can sing the correct lyrics to it. Thanks Melissa!! Sometimes I would video the song & send it to her to let her know I was thinking of her. Hopefully she got a smile from it. We’ve included some pictures from that Ball dating back to 2009-2017. We hope you all enjoy them as we do much looking back & remembering how much fun we had. We sure do miss her but know she’s dancing to Mexican Lucky up there wearing her signature converse shoes! Love.
