The First Tee of Fort Worth is a youth development organization introducing the game of golf and its inherent values to young people in the greater Fort Worth community. Founded in 2004, The First Tee of Fort Worth is one of over 200 chapters of The First Tee, an organization that is recognized as one of the premier youth character-education programs in the country.
The First Tee of Fort Worth is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization and is overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors. They rely on local support from numerous corporations, foundations and individuals.
WHY THIS CHARITY?
Nothing was more important to my mom than children and family. She understood the importance of building character in young children and she took every opportunity to support us in school, sports, and church programs. She volunteered for school committees and youth sports organizations and even continued to work at our church's childcare during her fight with cancer. Even though my mom was never much of a golfer, she saw the importance of the friendship and mentorship that learning the sport can bring. Giving back to the local chapter is a way that I can support my mom’s core beliefs regarding children and family.
