Melissa's Milburn and Corinth years of good times and friendships are very
enviable. I met Melissa at Shawnee Mission East (you guessed, the auction of
Andrew's freshman year) and at Indian Hills. Like everyone, we shared
laughs, and fun times, morning swims, and some road trips - driving to Ft
Worth was our best. The two of us talking about all kinds of things.
Christmas Creativity with a Capital "C" ...
The bulletin board creativity has been documented by dear, Lynn Chalker.
Next up ... Wednesday bridge group at Indian Hills. The group actually
started as a bridge group and then morphed into a book club, or if you
didn't read the book, then it was a wine club. Net gain was great times and
even better friendships.
Back to Christmas ... Melissa came into bridge one Wednesday, in December,
bearing Christmas ornaments for all (the blue sparkly one). Cutest gift,
even with a darling tag that said, something like, "You light up my
Wednesday's." She had us convinced that she had made each one - walked us
through the hot glue, the blue sparkles that were all over the house, the
dipping of the bulb, etc. We were amazed at how perfect it looked, I mean
really perfect. This went on for a bit and then she burst out laughing and
said, "you guys are so gullible, I did not make those, I just bought them
and put the tag on."
Year #2 - Bridge "NUT" - homemade and darling!
Year #3 - Here's to good bridge hands - emery board and all.
Year #4 - We returned the favor with "Feathers are reminders that angels are
always near".
Leave it to Melissa to have the greatest executed ideas, with friendships at
the heart.
Miss you, my friend!
