Welcome back to The Melissa Way!
As you may recall, last year I ran a fundraising competition in February, operating under the name The Melissa Way, that raised nearly $8,600 for some of my Mom's favorite causes.
This year, instead of asking for monetary donations for things Mom loved, I have decided instead to ask for stories that show why we loved her, for things that exemplified The Melissa Way of living life.
The project is to post one story/memory to this blog each day of the month of February, so apologies in advance for the upcoming flood of posts on your timelines! These posts will be authored by a wide-range of friends, family, and loved ones, starting with her sister, Lynne, and ending with a combined post on her birthday from Jeff, Addie and Me.
I plan on using the same website to showcase these stories, using the Blog feature that will allow people to comment on the stories on the website. I also plan to share the link on all social platforms so everyone can see her impact.
To join in on the conversation on the blog, please create an account using the button in the upper right hand corner of this section that says 'Login/Sign up' and then leave a comment on the post.
Nuts on Clark!
February 2007. Melissa’s birthday and Jeff surprised Missy with tickets to see Oprah! So we delightfully packed up and headed to the windy city! The laughing and shenanigans started at the airport, where we almost missed our flight while having a cocktail in the airport bar.
Next we checked into our first priceline room, The Knickerbocker, which was fun, memorable and probably never quite the same. The photos bring back fuzzy memories of a bit too much wine, some not-so-healthy late night snacks and overall general horseplay! The Oprah experience was a once in a lifetime experience...we all enjoyed so much! We laughed when one of us either laughed too loud or snorted or something loud…
